If you're like me, I'm not inquiring further if I don't even have a ballpark estimate, so here's what I would roughly summarize: "Typical prices range from $5 to $20 per tape, depending on amount of media/type of media/quality/editing/turnaround and can also vary depending on preferred output of files."
What started as a pandemic project and an introduction to video editing, I started transfering my families old VHS collection to a portable harddrive in 2020. Dozens of tapes later and hundreds of gigabytes later, the project was completed and the videos were distributed on USB drives as a Christmas present to various family members. From here, it expanded to uploading my wife's old family footage and eventually expanding to her aunts and uncles as well. As the total count of tapes transferred increases, so does experience with fixing broken tapes and VCR issues. Your tapes will be in good hands and it's a worry free way to get your memories available at the click of a button!
